Cyber space and social sites

I stepped into one of the cyber center as I was away from home and office for a print out. What shocked and surprised me, was the numerous people waiting to use the comp that had internet connections. Most of them were students or school goers.

With lots of social sites around us today there seems to be a heavy rush to these internet business cyber cafe. Mainly may be as parents do not allow children to use more of these social sites and torment only on studies. This is the reason I heard, I mean, overheard one of the school going boy telling his pal, who was along with him at the cyber point.

 

How is the internet being used by these youngsters? Is there anything like e-tuition’s or gathering information for some of their projects? When I asked these questions to one of the young assistant at the cyber cafe, he said that all these are students that are seeking reasons to reach out to the social sites where they chat, comment and upload pictures.

Well, I to use some of the social sites to be in touch with friends who are away and settled out of the local town. I think this is a very good technology that has crept in to keep a friendly relationship going even though we are not in the same place or town.

I began something like this. I first signed up a social site and started hunting my friends by their name and location. There are many such members in the social sites but, you need to find the right one you are looking for either by the info provided by a friend or a picture of your pal or maybe the way to find a friend could depend on the school name, company they work for or have worked earlier. Finally, by using the above mentioned criteria I could locate a friend who was at school with me. Since, then I have been regular in searching out friends on these social sites by which we can have a good forgotten relationship rekindled.

Today I have many friends in these social sites and we do enjoy information shared between us even though, we are miles away. Many of my friends update their best pictures and share comment on them. Some of the friends share games where they would need you to accompany them on these social sites. What a best time one can afford. We get to know each others activities and events. Where my friends are partying? Where are they for vacation? Isn’t it really being in touch with all your friends?

Well, I have been enjoying these social sites as this provides a neat and clean platform for our interaction. However, I cannot control that these sites are being used by some friends who meet up every day and share a good time partying and still post comments on each other. These are the sites that can be used for many good reasons.

Let me come back to where I started. The youngsters who throng around these social sites are to be bench marked for use of these social sites. There are many such youngsters who are so involved in these social sites that they tend to be no more interested in their academic learning.

It all depends on the usage of one’s availability but, as we say anything and everything above limits could be dangerous. So I wish all of you to make best use of these social sites and yes, do not forget, what are the important aspects of our everyday living?
